Introducing a Super Bug- Aleksandr Petrov

Director of 'The Old Man and the Sea'- (An Academy Award winning Film, A must watch animation short..)

The last novel Ernest Hemingway published, The Old Man and the Sea has proved itself to be one of America’s long lasting all time best fictional stories to read. It is the story of an old Cuban fisherman’s dry spell being broken: a relentless, agonizing and amazing battle takes place when he hooks a giant marlin that drags him out to sea.

The winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature, Ernest Hemingway is one of the greatest writers of modern American literature. Hemingway’s unparalleled style and ability to target in on the perfect characterizing detail of a person or scene has influenced every serious novelist of the second half of the 20th century.

In 1999, Aleksandr Petrov won the Academy Award for Short Film for a film that follows the plot line of Ernest Hemingway’s classic fictional novella, The Old Man and the Sea. Petrov’s technique involves painting pastels on glass, he and his son painted a total of 29,000 images in total. It’s amazing that they could take all that time and hard work to produce this fine wonderful short film. You’ll find the film really worth watching, I recommend the long version. It’s sure to capture their imagination.
